Thrift store opens in Corunna

Corunna, MI â?? Volunteers of America Michigan is excited to announce the grand opening of their newest thrift store in Corunna on March 10, 2012. A ribbon cutting will be held at the 28,000 square foot store on March 9, 2012 at 3:00 pm. The new store, located at 2500 E. Main Street across from Meijer, will bring new life to an underutilized space while also providing upwards of 25 new jobs within the community.

The Volunteers of America Michigan Thrift Stores collect donated items and sell them to the public. The store will offer clothing, furniture, household goods, and will have over 15,000 new and gently used items for sale every week. The thrift store will employ a simple and low-cost price structure that offers affordable and high quality clothing, furniture and household items to the community.

Proceeds from the sale of items at Volunteers of America Michiganâ??s Thrift stores go to fund the vital social services offered by Volunteers of America Michigan including programs for homeless men, women and children; specialized programs for homeless veterans including transitional housing, veteran employment training and placement services; affordable housing for low-income families and seniors; and meals in the community kitchen. All donations to Volunteers of America Michigan are tax deductible and donors receive a receipt.
