One last Happy Fathers Day to everyone before we focus on the next big thing, a week full of showers and storms.
First, overnight tonight mainly after midnight we have a front moving through and with it comes a line of storms.
They should not be severe but a few could be a bit breezy with some strong gusting winds.
Monday is partly cloudy to mostly sunny and this is interesting as we step towards Tuesday.
Then enters the threat for severe weather.
Tuesday afternoon and evening (potentially overnight) harbors the threat for strong storms.
The Storm Prediction Center has not placed us in the risk area yet, but looking at models I must say the chance is there.
All of this depends greatly on how the system is handled both overnight tonight and overnight Monday night.
If we cool down more, that's good, and if we stay more cloud covered, also good.
But, it doesn't come down to just if we see the sun, there are extra ingredients meteorologists have to watch for and right now they seem like they could be there.
Best to just be ready for a storm Tuesday night and stick with us here at NBC25 as we get closer and get a better idea as the system moves closer.
The rest of the week holds rain and a few storms but there is a large amount of uncertainty with the extended forecast.
This is one scenario where I cannot trust the models much, I have to go with my gut and training.
So with that my call is watch for a couple storms Tuesday afternoon and evening, I think we should see a severe potential but on the low end of the spectrum.
And also have an umbrella ready the rest of the week.
