Halloween Fun at Dow Memorial Library in Midland



9:30am-3:00pm: Grace A. Dow Memorial Library, 1710 W. St. Andrews Road, Midland

Halloween Fun at the Midland Mall



5:00-6:00pm: Midland Mall, 6800 Eastman Avenue



Children up to age ten can trick or treat throughout the mall, accompanied by their parents with participating retailers. Mall security policy prohibits full-face masks.







Halloween Candy Giveaway



5:30-7:00pm: Berston Field House, 3300 N. Saginaw, Flint



5th annual event features candy giveaway, music, bounce house.







Harvest Festival



5:30-7:30pm: Bethel United Methodist Church, 1309 Ballenger Highway, Flint



7th annual event features hide and seek trick or treat, games and prizes, and costume contests for children up to 15.







Free Pancakes



IHOP restaurants in Flint and Saginaw will offer kids 12 and under a free â??Scary Faceâ?? pancake for free. The buttermilk pancake includes a whipped topping mouth, a glazed strawberry nose, mini-Oreo cookie eyes, and candy corn teeth.








Trick or Treat Safety Tips




As children get ready to hit the streets for trick-or-treating, police remind kids and their parents to take extra precautions to have an enjoyable and safe Halloween.




  • Children of any age should be accompanied by an adult


  • Accept treats at the door and never go into a strangers house


  • Stay in familiar neighborhoods


  • Plan your route and share it with your family


  • Stay in a group


  • Only visit homes that have the porch light on


  • Stay in populated and well-lit areas


  • Do not cut through back alleys or fields


  • Cross the street only at corners or crosswalks


  • Do not cross the street between parked cars


  • Carry a flashlight


  • If your child is going to wear a mask, make sure the eye holes are large enough to avoid visual obstruction


  • Wear light-colored or reflective-type clothing so you are more visible


  • Make sure all costumes are flame retardant


  • Avoid walking too close to open fires, candles, and jack-o-lanterns


  • Make sure an adult inspects all candy before eating it


  • Do not eat candy that it already opened


  • Be sure to follow community curfew rules
