Truck strikes moving train, sending driver to area hospital

This morning at 9:46 a full sized Chevy truck struck a moving train, sending the driver to an area hospital.
Lieutenant Pfau of the Saginaw Sheriff's Office told NBC25 that the truck failed to stop for the flashing lights and signal and struck the train, which was traveling at about 20 to 25 miles-per-hour.
It is not known yet how fast the truck was going.
The 19-year-old woman who was driving the truck was transported to Covenant Hospital by MMR for the treatment of minor injuries, according to Lt. Pfau. She was the only one in the vehicle.
The Birch Run Township police were the first on the scene. The Saginaw County Sheriff's Office will be handling the investigation of the accident.
Also assisting is the Birch Run Fire Department.
East Burt Road is closed at the site of the accident while the Saginaw County Sheriff's Office is investigating. Travelers are advised to avoid the area until after noon today.
