      Two Flint men charged in January double homicide

      Two Flint men are charged with murder in a January double shooting that killed a man and a woman whose bodies were found near a burning car on the city??s west side.

      20-year-old William Evans and 26-year-old Steven Webster are each charged with two counts of open murder and also face armed robbery, carjacking and felony firearm charges in the January 18 incident.

      Police were called late that night to the scene of a burning car on N. Ballenger Highway near Raskob Street. They found the bodies of Oscar Knuckles, Jr., of Mt. Morris Township and Amyre Aikens of Flint leaning against a fence.

      Aikins had been driving the car that was found burned, and police found Knuckles?? car the next day at another address.

      Evans and Webster will be arraigned in Genesee County court. Webster is also charged as being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The state department of corrections shows he was convicted of unarmed robbery and theft in recent years.
