      Two killed in crash in Saginaw Township

      The multi-car crash in Saginaw Township has left two dead.

      Two people were killed and three more are injured in a three-car accident in Saginaw Township.

      The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of Gratiot and Davis.

      According Saginaw Township police a 45-year-old Saginaw man was driving a pickup truck westbound on Gratiot, when he cross the roadway striking a Chevy Impala and a Jeep Liberty.

      Police tell NBC25, three sisters, from Bridgeport, were traveling together in the Chevy Impala. The two passengers,63- year-old Carol Lyle and 67-year-old Judith Kelly died at the scene. The driver of the Impala was taken to Covenant and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

      The driver of the Jeep Liberty, 69-year-old Alice Lapan of Thomas Township was also taken to Covenant and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

      The driver of the pick up truck was treated at Covenant.

      The crash closed Gratiot between Davis Drive and Golfview Drive for several hours while emergency crews cleared the roads.

      The accident remains under investigation and will be present to the Saginaw County Prosecutor's office for review.
