Two people are facing a slew of charges Friday night after a home invasion triggered a dramatic police chase in Saginaw County. The Saginaw County Sheriff??s department tells NBC25 the events unfolded shortly after 2 p.m. Friday. A man came home to find an unknown SUV in his driveway in the 5700 block of South Brennan Road in Brant Township. He told police he saw a woman inside the black vehicle. Then he saw a man come out of his house, get in the SUV and drive off.The homeowner followed the suspects while he called 911. The suspects led sheriff??s deputies on a high-speed chase until police say they lost control, causing the SUV to flip over at least eight times and eventually crash. The male subject was ejected from the vehicle. Police say the two suspects then fled on foot. They were eventually tracked down with the help of Michigan State Police troopers in a helicopter. Police recovered the homeowner??s stolen items, including a TV, electronics and jewelry.Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel said he believes the suspects broke into other homes throughout Saginaw and Bay counties.??There may be additional charges of home invasion if we can link them to these other cases, so they'll be charged with multiple charges on this case and we'll be looking at other cases over the last several months,?? Sheriff Federspiel said.
The suspects ?? both in their mid-20s ?? are in the Saginaw County jail. They are expected to be arraigned Monday.
