U of M Flint holds blood drive in honor of Flint murdered victims

Health Communication students from U of M Flint and the American Red Cross are holding the "66 Heroes for 66 Lives" blood drive Monday.

The theme is reflecting the number of homicides in Flint during 2012.

Organizers say their goal is to collect 66 pints of blood .

Individuals and famiies that have been personally touched by homicide have been invited to attend the event.

A special memorial will also be held.

The blood drive begins at 11am and runs until 3pm.

It will be held at UM-Flint's University Center on Monday.
