Two local families are renewing calls to investigate a double murder that happened 15 years ago.
David Vincent and David Compeau were found dead on May 12, 1999 when firefighters were called to 1814 Jane Ave. on Flintâ??s east side for a fire. For 15 years the victims' families were told the men were attacked and the house they lived in set on fire, but no one has been arrested for the crime.
The homeowner - who was also there the night of the fire - called 9-1-1. Police say he was questioned then and he remains a person of interest in the case.
Relatives of both of the victims joined Crime Stoppers Monday afternoon, asking for any information that can help detectives crack the case. They say justice served 15 years later is never too late.
Vincentâ??s brother-in-law, Frank Everett, said, â??[The suspects] are doing everything that we do. They could be standing next to you ten times a day and you don't know it. That ain't right. If you know something, step up and call.â??
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
