NBC25 along with nearly 400 people turned out to help end Alzheimer's disease in Saginaw Township Saturday morning.
The Alzheimer Association Great Lakes Bay Region says the Walk to End Alzheimerâ??s event raised $41,000 to fund Alzheimerâ??s care, support and research programs. Participants completed a one-hour walk and learned about the disease and how they can become involved in advocacy efforts. Some participants held pinwheel flowers in remembrance of loved ones.
NBC25 Chief Meteorologist Ty Shesky co-emceed the event with Scott Stine of 96WHNN.
NBC25 will be participating in two additional walks, the first in Grand Blanc Township on Sept. 14 and the second in Midland on Sept. 21. For more details on the upcoming walks, or to make a donation, visit alz.org/walk or call 989-839-9910.
