WANTED: Betrand Jamal Hawkins

Betrand Jamal Hawkins

Flint Township police are seeking Betrand Jamal Hawkins.

Hawkins has a warrant out for his arrest for Driving While License Suspended Causing Death, which is a 15-year felony.

The warrant was issued in October of 2011.

Back in August of 2010 the driver of a motorcycle who had the right-of-way, Earl Gaboury, was unable to stop in time when Hawkins made a left-turn in front of Gaboury.

Gaboury flew from the motorcycle, striking the roof of the car Hawkins was driving, before hitting the pavement.

Three days later Gaboury died at the hospital.

Hawkins showed police a military ID as opposed to a driver's license at the scene, so the police did not find out he had a suspended license and that he had two traffic warrants for his arrest.

Since this time, Hawkins has been discharged from the military.

Hawkins is a black male and 32-years-old.

Anyone with information of Hawkins whereabouts is asked to call Lt. Tim Jones of the Flint Township Police at 810-600-3250.

Or you can send an anonymous tip by calling Crimestoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL
