In emergency medicine, it's called "the golden hour," the time following a traumatic injury during which saving a life depends on the seconds, minutes, even hours it may take to administer emergency medical care.

For one Mid-Michigan health care professional, "the golden hour," for him, is a daily exercise in accuracy, speed and compassion.
