Weekend barbeque event helps stock Flint soup kitchens
FLINT, Mich. - The award winning World Class Bar-B-Q is giving back to the Flint community.
Thursday kicks off their annual Weekend Bar-B-Q event.
All the proceeds from this weekend will go towards the three soup kitchens at Catholic Charities.
In the past six years the family business has donated more than $100,000 to the organization.
"I know how hard it is at the end of the month to have money for groceries so we want to make sure that the soup kitchen is there in case we need it," said owner David Burton.
The event runs through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the corner of Saginaw Street and Pierson Road in Flint.
