Wine event raises funds to light up Flint's Brush Alley
FLINT, Mich. - It was an opportunity to taste wine and help out a good cause at the same time.
The Light Up Brush Alley event was held this evening in Flint.
People could taste over seven different wines and meet a wine maker at the party.
The group is starting a fundraising campaign to string lights through the 500 and 600 blocks of Brush Alley.
They want to copy what was already done on Buckham Alley.
The group says the lights along with art will help to promote a safe and engaged area.
"We feel like we did in Buckham Alley when we put the lights up there, it took out whatever was bad and brought what’s good and we want to do the same thing in Brush Alley. It’s just creating a safe and engaging place, more spots for the public to feel welcome and safe to hangout,” said supporter Kristy Bearse.
Ticket prices were $25.
The ticket entitled you to taste seven different wines, cheese plates and a ticket that could enter you into a raffle.
