Woman accidentally shoots self during dispute

A Michigan woman who was using a shotgun to make a point during a family dispute has accidentally shot herself in face.

The 51-year-old woman told Tuscola County sheriff's deputies the shotgun went off about 10 a.m. Monday when she slammed its butt on the floor in a house in Fremont Township.

She's being treated at a Saginaw hospital and is expected to recover.

The incident remains under investigation.

Fremont Township is about 70 miles north of Detroit.
