Another passenger was charged for possession of marijuana.

This was the driver's third offense for driving while intoxicated.

An Isabella County sheriff's deputy spotted a black Lincoln traveling on Pickard Road at a very slow rate of speed.

The vehicle then sped up and then slowed way down again, eventually stopping in the middle of the lane.

The deputy then attempted a traffic stop, but the driver took off at a high rate of speed, blowing through a stop sign and passing other vehicles.

The driver of the Lincoln, a 28-year-old female from Grand Rapids, then lost control, spun out, ran off the road and hit a utility pole and then a tree.

A power outage resulted due to damage to the utility pole.

There were no injuries to the driver or the passengers.

The driver of the car explained to the deputy that she was trying to elude the police because of drugs in the car.
