A Michigan woman who was driving drunk when she crashed her minivan and killed her unbuckled 6-week-old son has been sentenced to serve between 4 years, 2 months and 15 years in prison. She also accused of passing bad checks while out on bond.
Police say 37-year-old Constance Johnson struck a parked pickup truck on October 7th, 2012 in her hometown of Ypsilanti Township, near Ann Arbor. They say her son Isiah Caddel was sitting in a car carrier but it wasn't strapped in.
Washtenaw County Circuit Judge David Schwartz sentenced her Thursday.
She pleaded no contest in August to driving while intoxicated causing a death as part of a deal with prosecutors.
Johnson was also charged Wednesday with fraud for passing bad checks in August.
