FLINT, Mich.--

In an effort to make sure Flint knows it’s not forgotten, a group of women traveled to the vehicle city all the way from North Carolina.

The ladies who are part of the group Women the World Over came to talk to the people of Flint.

They also donated food and bottled water to those in need.

More than anything their goal is to spread hope.

"Our purpose in coming to the city of Flint was to meet with the residents, hear firsthand for ourselves what they are dealing with. We wanted to wrap our arms of love around them to let them know that they are not forgotten and it's been a wonderful experience, it's like an old friend that got back together with even though we didn't know them,” said Cheryl Hariston.

The ladies spoke Tuesday at Joy Tabernacle Church in Flint, but also went out across the city to meet with families.
