Lapeer County Road Commission prepares for winter weather
LAPEER, Mich-- The Lapeer County Road Commission was hard at work on Thursday night and Friday morning preparing for the latest round of winter weather.
The District Foreman for the commission, Zeb Schons said that they have about 18 pieces of equipment out on the roads. Several crews were out plowing and salting.
Since the beginning of winter until now the commission says it used about 70 percent of their salt supply, but they should be okay.
"We have good working relationships with our nearby counties and we can borrow salt from them. So we should have it under control," said Schons.
The daytime crew said they expect to be on the roads until eight or nine on Friday.
