Late Filers: Tax deadline looms for thousands in Mid-Michigan

Saginaw, Mich -- Tax specialists in Saginaw are gearing up for one of their busiest days of the year.

April 18 is the deadline to file taxes and it's also the last day to amend taxes from 2013.

Experts at H&R Block shared some tips to help customers files this year.

Tax Specialist, Ed Madden says people should see if it make sense to itemize your deduction, it could put extra money back in your pocket.

Specialists also suggest researching write-offs like gas mileage, moving and even having a child.

Also have a second pair of eyes look over your taxes especially if you are doing them alone.

H&R Block offers a second look option for free.

Lastly, if you don't think you'll be able to file by the deadline ask for an extension, but remember this is a deadline to file not to pay the IRS.

Currently 41 million Americans wait until April to file their taxes.
