Local non-profit provides free dresses to girls just before prom season
Burton, Mich-- For the last six years the owner of My Dreams Do Come True has made prom a reality for girls in Mid-Michigan.
"I know what it's like to not be able to afford to look and feel beautiful and I don't want another girl to go through that," said MDDCT Owner, Walethia Aquil.
That's what inspired Grand Blanc High School Junior, Grace Mora to get involved.
Mora inspired dozens of girls at her high school to donate more than 80 dresses to MDDCT.
"I just wanted everyone to feel beautiful and not worry about the costs," said Mora.
Between March and June Aquil is giving way free prom dresses, purses, shoes and accessories to young ladies in our area.
There are thousands of dresses to choose from, many were donated and are brand new with tags.
If you would like to schedule an appointment to try on dresses you can click here. If you are 17 or younger you must be accompanied by a parent.
