Managing holiday stress one tasks at a time

Flint Township, Mich-- For millions of Americans the holidays can be super stressful. People report being most stressed about lack of money, lack of time and the commercialism of the holiday.
We spoke to clinical therapist at Re-connect My Life in Flint Township, Shuntai Walker about how to tackle the holiday season without getting burned out. She listed these tips below.


  • Time all family gathering
  • Limit alcohol consumption
  • Create fun focal points
  • Delegate responsibility
  • Set aside differences

She also suggests making the holidays more about spending time with family than materialism and avoid family members that may trigger stress. Lastly if you lost a family member during this time remember to think about the positive times you've spent together and incorporate those memories in your holiday traditions.
