An Ann Arbor man and his wife have filed a complaint with the state Child Protective Services after a "mistake" at the ballpark separated him from his son.
Christopher Ratte recently took his 7-year-old son, Leo, to a Detroit Tigers game. They stopped at a concession stand to buy some lemonade. But it wasn't until late in the game when a security guard asked Ratte about the bottle of Mike's Hard Lemonade in his son's hand.
Ratte says he told the guard he had no idea that the lemonade contained alcohol. Leo spent two days in state custody and it was nearly a week before his father was able to move back home. Ratte said child protective workers told him an intervention was unnecessary but they were just following orders.
