Blackhawks beat Red Wings 4-3, force a Game 7

DETROIT (AP) - The Chicago Blackhawks have forced a seventh game in their Western Conference semifinal series with the Detroit Red Wings.

The Blackhawks staved off elimination by scoring three straight goals in the third period of a 4-2 win over the Red Wings in Detroit. Michal Handzus tied the game 51 seconds into the third period before Brian Bickell gave the Hawks their first lead since the opening period, beating Jimmy Howard with 14:12 remaining. Michael Frolik doubled Chicago's lead on a penalty shot less than four minutes after Bickell's tally.

Damien Brunner scored with 51.7 seconds left to get the Red Wings within 4-3 before Corey Crawford shut the door. Crawford finished with 35 saves.

Marian Hossa contributed a power-play goal and an assist, while Jonathan Toews (tayvz) set up two scores.

Game 7 will be Wednesday in Chicago.
