For the second straight season Miguel Cabrera has been named the Sporting News Player of the Year.

Miggy joins Ted Williams, Joe Morgan and Albert Pujols as the only players to win the honor two years-in-a-row.

While no single player has won the award three-years-in-a-row, a Tiger has won the award the last three seasons, with Justin Verlander taking home the prize in 2011.

Cabrera lead in the league in batting average, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage this season.
