Dalton Prout: a chance like this comes once in a blue moon

Windsor dominated Saginaw 3-0 in game one of this series last Friday at the Dow Event Center.

Dalton Prout is in his fifth season in the Ontario Hockey League and is currently taking part in his fifth trip to the playoffs.

Last summer, he was part of the Barrie Colts squad that was swept out of the OHL finals by the Windsor Spitfires.

So this series has added importance for the Spirit over-ager.

"It would be a thrill, it would be the farthest the Saginaw Spirit have traveled in the playoffs. It would be great for the community, great exposure for the organization. Kind of turning tides here in Saginaw, really make it into a good hockey community.," said Prout, in an interview with NBC25 on Monday night.

Saginaw hosts Windsor in game three Tuesday night at the Dow Event Center.

"I think tomorrow night we have to have a good start. We can't have those ten minute lapses in the game that we've had that let the other team have a goal or two goal lead. We have to stay focused for a full 60 minutes, pay attention to detail, do all the little things right, accompanied with hard work and I think that we'll come out on top," added Prout, who has now appeared in 42 OHL playoff games.
