After getting the tying run in the top of the 8th inning, the Tigers allowed the Oakland A's Josh Reddick, a guy who's struck out 6 times in this series, to get the go-ahead home run.
Thank goodness for the Tigers, they've got Don Kelly, who's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 9th inning, won it for Detroit, and put them up 2-0 in this series.
"These are the moments you live for," Kelly said post-game Sunday. "This is why you play the game, to be out there and help the team, especially with the game on the line."
"That's what Don does, it's why he's here," Prince Fielder said. "He gets the job done and I'm just happy we won."
"Never give up, play hard, it's why this game is so great," Miguel Cabrera said. "You never know what's going to happen. We've had some luck. I hope we can get it done in Oakland."
As the lower seed, the Tigers now head to Oakland for three straight games starting Tuesday.
Detroit hasn't been great on the road, but they have won two in Oakland this season. Now, all they need is to win one more.
