Saginaw Township North trailed Bay City Southwest in the final inning of the District 14 Championship, but things would not end that way.
North's Brady Alverson laced a 2-run double into the right centerfield gap to lead his all-stars to the win.
"There were runners on 2nd and 3rd, and they got a ball on me - I mean a strike - and then they threw me a curveball and I just hit it to the wall. And I knew we won," Alverson said.
"Glad that we were home. We knew that we were going to score two runs in the bottom of that inning," said Manager John Sullivan.
"He got a great pitch to hit. He hit right into his gap, where he hits the ball real hard, and what a feeling. It's a good job."
Saginaw TWP North is now onto the state tourney in Muskegon which starts a week from Friday.
