Schedule set for Spirit-Spitfires playoff series

The Spirit will attempt to advance to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history.

The Saginaw Spirit will host the Windsor Spitfires in the second round of the 2011 OHL Playoffs, with the two West Division rivals facing off for the first time of the series this Friday, April 8 at The Dow Event Center.

The team will also host game three on Tuesday, April 12.

Tickets are on sale now for games one and three of the series.

The Spirit beat the Spitfires in the regular season series four games to two, winning 5-2 in Windsor on October 7, losing 3-2 in Saginaw on November 6, winning 5-2 in Saginaw on November 27, 5-2 in Windsor on December 18, 5-0 in Windsor on March 17 and finally a 5-4 overtime loss in Saginaw on March 19.

Josh Shalla leads the Spirit scoring against the Spitfires this season, with five goals and two assist including a 4 goal effort on November 27. Jordan Szwarz has posted four goals and two assists and Vincent Trocheck three goals and 2 assists. Goalie Mavric Parks has posted 4-1-0-0 record and a 0.964 save percentage in five regular season games including a 41 save shutout on March 17.
