Spirit excited about Hockeytown Winter Festival

Spirit unveil their Jersey for the Hockeytown Winter Festival in December.

When it comes to outdoor games the NHL is king, but come this December, everyone is getting in on the action.

Along with the NHL and AHL Outdoor Classics, the OHL will be part of the Hockeytown Winter Festival.

Our very own Saginaw Spirit, who unveiled the jersey they'll be wearing this Thursday afternoon, will face-off with the Windsor Spitfire at Comerica Park.

At the Dow Event Center today the Spirit along with the Plymouth Whalers, and the Red Wings' Tom Wilson talked about the event, that according to them, is perfect for the area.

"We look at this as a great opportunity to grow the fanbase of the OHL, and to showcase the high talent we've got in our league," says Craig Goslin, Spirit Team President. "Personally for the Saginaw Spirit, we look at this as an opportunity to promote the Great Lakes-Bay region."

"This is why we all get into sports, because we're in the fun business," says Tom Wilson, President and CEO of Olymipia Entertainment. "And what's more fun than taking 100,000 people and giving them that kind of entertainment, and that kind of experience that they'll never have an opportunity again."
