The National Hockey League's Central scouting released their preliminary report last week, and two Saginaw Spirit players are on their list, Jimmy Lodge and Nick Moutrey, who are both 17-year-old forwards in their second seasons with the club.
Lodge has eight goals and eight assists so far this season and is ranked 14th.
Moutrey has five goals and nine assists and is ranked 18th.
Twenty-five OHL skaters and six goalies are rated on the list.
NBC25 caught up with Lodge and Moutrey Wednesday after practice.
Both guys said it's excited to get word the NHL is interested, but their main focus, right now, is on the team.
"I'm excited to find out, but I'm trying not to think about it too much, team first, you know?" Moutrey said. "I'm happy about it, but I have a long way to go."
"It's just the beginning of the season, preliminary rankings, I just got to keep working hard everyday, in practice and playing hard in games and everythin," Lodge said.
