S.V.S.U. women dominate Northern Michigan in GLIAC tourney

Just over three weeks ago the Saginaw Valley State women's basketball team won a nail-biter over Northern Michigan 62-60. But on Tuesday night they faced off once again, this time in the first round of the GLIAC Tournament and the Cardinals rose to the occassion. They led by six at halftime but they mashed the gas pedal in the second half and blew the doors off the Wildcats 62-45.

Head Coach Jamie Pewinski was proud of her team. "Well I just think it was a great effort, and for us to pull that win out was huge. Anna Hall had 11 rebounds in the first half, Hannah had 12 points and four three's which were enormous. Just an all around great team effort and the bottom line is we gotta win right now and it's win or go home so we're ecstatic."

Saginaw Valley State will now face Grand Valley State in round two of the tournament on Saturday.
