      Trocheck Hits 20 Goals on the Season Against 67s

      Eric Locke celebrates a goal for the Spirit

      The Saginaw Spirit took on the Ottawa 67s on Saturday night on home ice, winning 10 - 3.

      Both Eastern and Western Conference teams came out strong in the first, however the 67s were able to advance first with an unassisted goal by Dante Salituro. The 67s continued with the scoring as another goal came from Brendan Bell, assisted by Ryan Van Stralen. The Spirit fired back with a goal by Eric Locke, with assists coming from Florida Panthers prospect, Vince Trocheck and Dalton Young. The first period ended Ottawa 2 - Saginaw 1.

      After a great goaltending duel early in the second, the Spirit were able to tie up the game with a goal by Terry Trafford, with assists coming from Chicago Blackhawks prospect, Garret Ross and Jason Shaw. The Spirit continued to score, with two more goals in the period; one goal coming from Buffalo Sabres prospect, Justin Kea, assisted by Nick Moutrey and Jason Shaw, followed by a goal by Dalton Young, with assists coming from Jimmy Lodge and Andrey Alexeev. The second period ended Saginaw 4 - Ottawa 2.

      The Spirit put up a solid effort in the third, scoring two goals less than a minute into the period. One goal, off Nick Moutrey's stick, assisted by Eric Locke and Brandon Prophet, followed by an unassisted goal from Garret Ross. Jimmy Lodge continued the scoring for the Spirit with a goal assisted by Eric Locke. The Spirit scored a short-handed goal by Garret Ross, with an assist from Vince Trocheck. Terry Trafford then scored a power-play goal for the Spirit, assisted by Jason Shaw and Nick Moutrey. The Spirit scored another goal by Vince Trocheck, his 20th of the season, with an assist coming from Garret Ross. The 67s fired back with a goal from Dante Salituro, assisted by Ottawa Senators prospect, Cody Ceci and Nevin Guy. The game ended Saginaw 10 - Ottawa 3, with shots on goal Saginaw 48 - Ottawa 21.
