Carman Ainsworth wins final Big Nine Title

Powers and Flushing scramble for the ball in their match up Friday night.

Carman Ainsworth hosted Davison Friday night, one conference loss between the two schools.

The Cavaliers beat the Cardinals once this season, Davison looking for revenge.

Cavs get a big lead in the first half; thanks in part to Denzel Watts, who had 20 points on the night.

Davison comes back a bit in the second. Corrizales had 16 for the Cardinals, but the Cavaliers were too much. Carman Ainsworth wins it 58-55. Cavs are the very last boys basketball Big Nine Champions.

It's been a tough season for both the Flushing and Powers Catholic boys teams. Friday, the Chargers hosted the Raiders in their last Big Nine match ups.

Powers too much for the Raiders on this night. Chargers win it 61-42.

Flint Northern has a date with Saginaw next week, but they'd have to get past Northwestern first on the road Friday night.

Carl Jackson had 15 points for the Vikings who by 10 points, 57-47.

In our In Depth interview, Pat McEachern of the Michigan Warriors, stopped by our NBC 25 studios this week.

He said he has no plans to sell or move the team. He filed for dormancy with the NAHL to give him more time to negotiate with a management team associated with Perani Arena. McEachern said he's also talking with a promotions company in which all three parties could be part-owners, or some other kind of combination, to keep the team in Flint for the long term. He said a decision should be reached in the next 7-10 days.
