      FNF Week 9: Montrose survives Lake Fenton in 2OT, Fenton clinches share of Flint Metro League

      The Fenton Tigers knocked off Lapeer West to earn a share of the Flint Metro League crown.

      The NBC25 Game of the Week certainly lived up to expectations.

      Lake Fenton (7-2) went for the win in double-overtime but came up one yard short.

      Montrose (8-1) took home the victory 22-21 and with it, a GAC Red Division championship.

      The Blue Devils never led in the game as both teams missed multiple field goals and extra points during regulation and overtime.

      Montrose tailback Caleb Reinhart, the state's leading rusher, was the workhorse for the Rams. for the Rams. Reinhart gained 86 yards with a touchdown but was forced out of the game with a sprained ankle.

      With the win, Montrose retains the GAC Red Division championship and Lake Fenton finishes second in the league behind the Rams for the second straight season.

      Montrose now leads the overall series 30-7 and hasn't lost to Lake Fenton since 2007.

      In other action, Fenton defeated Lapeer West 30-21 and earned a share of the Flint Metro League title.

      Linden scored early and often at Swartz Creek and earned a 43-0 victory.
