Day three of high school football practice Wednesday, the Powers Chargers working on defending their state title from a year ago.
The players still in shorts and shells, full pads wont be used until Thursday.
Head Coach Bob Buckel with quite a challenge this year. Buckle lost 19 players, which equals his entire defensive line, including Danny Obrien who went off to Tennessee.
But, Buckel said, his team was discounted last year after a poor start, and the Chargers surprised everyone.
History could repeat itself this year, he said, but the team is not focusing on what they did last year, or even talking about it.
"You know, we did until Monday," Buckel said. "It's a new season. Everyone's in the same spot. So one at a time right now."
"We all have it in the back of our heads, but we have to take it one game at a time," Powers Quarterback Garrett Pougnet said. "And this is a brand new season, we lost some players last year, and now we have to come together as a new team and make our own road."
