Our NBC25 Friday night football game of the week Friday pits two undefeated teams against each other: Frankenmuth at Powers Catholic.
Wednesday we previewed the Eagles, Thursday we take a look at the Chargers.
The defending state champs are having quite a different season than last year.
In 2011, the Chargers started off 2-4, and didn't get hot until late.
This year, Powers is undefeated, rolling past most opponents by two scores or more.
Powers relies heavily on its high-powered offense, led by Senior Garrett Poughnet.
The last time these two teams met, it was the first round of the playoffs last season, Powers came away with a 35-13 win.
Since then, Frankenmuth has gone on a 10-0 run.
The Chargers know what they're dealing with, hope to make it two post-season wins in a row.
"They have two half backs that are offensive threats, they're leading rushers," Powers Head Coach Bob Buckel said. "Those are their strengths, we know we have to stop them."
"They have a high-powered running game, we have to stop that," Senior Quarterback Garrett Poughnet said. "Offensively, we have to do what we've been doing all year, a mix of pass and run and do our job."
"They're not used to losing, we're not used to losing," Senior Tackle Vinnie Palazeti said. "Everyone will play their hearts out. I'm excited, it will be a good game."
