The Frankenmuth softball team went undefeated in the Tri-Valley East conference this regular season, but they're not done yet.
This year the Lady Eagles are looking for more. Frankenmuth came up just short in the state championship game last season. Led by their eight seniors in 2012, Frankenmuth is hoping to finish what they started last season, and win a state championship.
The Lady Eagles have been led by head coach Brad Walraven. The veteran skipper is in his 33rd season as a head coach for high school softball. He coached at Bay City All Saints for 30 years, before coming to Frankenmuth and earned his 1,000th career win earlier this year.
With plenty of experience throughout the roster, Frankenmuth is poised to make another run for the state championship.
"The season is going really well, at one point we were 4-3, and now we're 25-4," Walraven said. "I have eight seniors on the team, so it's definitely a big factor of why this season is the way it is."
"I think that's always our goal is to try and go undefeated within the conference," Senior Outfielder Rae Zink said. "We had a couple of tough games, but we're definitely happy that we met our goal."
