Watch: Intense atmosphere, D1 offer and dream runs continue in boys hoops


Several Mid-Michigan boys basketball teams advanced to the Regional Finals on Monday night.

In Class A, Flushing and Saginaw battled in a fantastic atmosphere, the Trojans pulling out a 56-52 win. They'll play Traverse City West, who beat Mt Pleasant 63-56, on Wednesday in the Regional Final at 6:30 p.m. They will play at Mt Pleasant High School.

Elsewhere in Class A, Linden Fell to Rochester Hills Stoney Creek 53-39.

In Class B, Frankenmuth's Mario Whitley came back from an early injury to beat Alma 73-50. They'll play Lake Fenton, who beat Freeland 55-52, in the Regional Final on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Corunna High School.

Elsewhere in Class B, Clare fell to Ludington 62-45, and Flint Northwestern fell to New Haven 97-66.

In Class C, Eastern Michigan head basketball coach Rob Murphy was onhand to watch Beecher's Malik Ellison take on Unionville-Sebewaing. He liked what he saw, giving Ellison his first Division 1 Scholarship offer after the Bucs 95-64. Beecher takes on Brown City, who beat Millington 59-55. They'll play on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Montrose Hill-McCloy High School.

Elsewhere in Class C, Nouvel took down Mason County Central 52-44, and Beaverton beat Leroy Pine River 53-37. They will face off in the Regional Final on Wednesday at Morley-Stanwood High School at 7 p.m.

In Class D, Flint International Academy beat Peck 57-53. They'll play Fowler, who beat Bay City All Saints 62-58. They'll tipoff at Wednesday at MLS at 7 p.m.

Elsewhere in Class D, Mt Pleasant Sacred Heart fell to Wyoming Tri-unity Christian.
