Week 1 FNF Playoffs: Grand Blanc wins rematch with Carman Ainsworth, Muth and Nouvel move on

Grand Blanc and Carman Ainsworth first met in the first week of the regular season, a 27-12 win for the Cavaliers.

These two teams met again in the first round of the playoffs Friday, and the tables were turned.

It was a back and forth contest all night, until Grand Blanc finally jumped ahead 30-13 at the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Carman Ainsworth tied it up with a Connor Storms touchdown pass.

But, in the final moments of the game, the Cavaliers fell short on fourth and goal and the Bobcats advanced. They take on Clarkston in round two.

Frankenmuth, perfect in the regular season, continued to roll Friday night. The Eagles beat Carrollton Cavaliers 21-10. They will meet defending state champions Powers Catholic in round two.

Division seven defending state champions, Nouvel Catholic, began their defense of their title Friday night against Brown City.

The Panthers easily rolled by the Green Devils 41-6. Nouvel moves on to play Reese in round two.
