Path to Greatness: Caro's Yami Albrecht runs with perspective
The Caro boys cross country team is ranked #1 in Division 3 right now, and last year's 5th place finishers at state finals have their eyes on a state title, the first in decades for the program. They're led by a strong junior class, including last year's Division 3 individual state champion Yami Albrecht. Yami admits he wasn't expecting a State Title after starting Cross Country as a freshman, but soaked in the final stretch to the championship, and now hopes he can help the program as a whole take home a title. The junior grew up in Ethiopia, moving to the United States when he was in 2nd grade. He was adopted by a family in Caro. He said he hopes to go back to Ethiopia in the near future, but also has dreams of running in college as well.
