Brand of organic peas, corn sold at Meijer recalled for Listeria concerns
A brand of organic peas and corn sold at Meijer is being recalled for Listeria concerns.
CRF Frozen Foods of Pasco, Washington is voluntarily recalling packages frozen of vegetable items that have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
No illnesses have been reported, but the company is recalling the products as a precaution. The Listeria was discovered through routine testing by state health officials in Ohio.
Recalled items were sold in plastic bags and are marked with Use By Dates located on the back of the package. Here is the of packages sold at Meijer: True Goodness By Meijer10 oz.Organic Petite Green Peas with UPC 713733430999 and best by date 11/26/201; True Goodness By Meijer10 oz.Organic White Sweet Corn with UPC 713733430982 and best by date11/21/2017.
