Flint Symphony World Premiere
A musical world premiere took place in downtown Flint this past weekend. For almost twenty five years, fans of the Flint Symphony Orchestra eagerly applauded a work called "A Service March Medley" composed and performed by FSO guest conductorDavid Mairs. The last time the composition was performed was during last June's NBC25 broadcast of "A Patriotic Salute with the Flint Symphony." Shortly after the broadcast aired, the station received an email comment from a viewer; "Why wasn't the U.S. Coast Guard anthem played on your Music In The Parks show? Very disappointing." Within hours of receiving that email, Maestro David Mairs set out of make things right. NBC25/FOX66 anchor Bill Harris sat down with the maestro prior to the performance.
