Kila joined the NBC25/FOX66 news team as a reporter in December 2015. Kila is a Michigan native, growing up in Oakland County. She graduated from Oakland University in 2002 with a Communications degree and attended Specs Howard School of Media Arts in 2009 where she obtained certification in Broadcast News.

Kila interned at FOX 2 news in Detroit, working for specialty reporter, Rob Wolchek, helping him put people in the "Hall of Shame" and investigating issues in and around the city of Detroit for the Problem Solver team. She then became a Multimedia Journalist for My TV20 news in Detroit, for 3 years she covered various headlining stories from multiple visits from President Barack Obama and Kwame Kilpatrick's release from prison. Kila even covered major sports events such as Detroit Red Wings' playoff streak to the Detroit Tigers' run at the World Series.

Kila is extremely happy to be part of the NBC25/FOX66 news team and strives to be active in the Flint/Tri-Cities communities. She lives in Flint with her husband, dog and two cats. Please reach out to her with questions and news story ideas!
