Rachelle Spence joined the NBC25 and FOX66 news team in November 2017. She anchors the weekday morning newscasts from 5-9 a.m.
This is a homecoming for Rachelle who is a Michigan native and graduated cum laude from Central Michigan University with a concentration in broadcasting and political science. Fun fact: She graduated with our own morning meteorologist Ahmad Bajjey.
Rachelle started her career at WPTA-TV in Fort Wayne, Indiana but comes most recently from WSPA-TV in Greenville, South Carolina, where she worked as a morning reporter and anchor.
Just before making the trip back up to the Midwest, Rachelle was named ‘Reporter of the Year’ by the South Carolina Broadcasters Association in 2017.
She covered the Charleston AME Church shooting, devastating wildfires in Gatlinburg, and fatal police shooting of Walter Scott.
Rachelle’s passion for journalism started at a very young age – watching local and national news every evening with her dad.
There’s no place like home and Rachelle is very excited to have all her family within an hour drive.
When she’s not working, Rachelle enjoys spending time with her two dogs (a sweet puggle and rambunctious coonhound). She also loves mentoring aspiring journalists.
Rachelle can’t wait to connect with you through social media – on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
