Profitt Report: Mid-Michigan gets an early start on the shopping season
Black Friday deals started on Thanksgiving day at stores across mid-Michigan. Hundreds of shoppers lined up outside Best Buy on Miller Road in Flint Township. The first few in line said they arrived around 4 a.m. Thanksgiving day. Most were looking to snag the biggest bargain of the day: a Sharp 50-inch LED 2160p Smart 4K Ultra HD Roku TV for $179.99 (more than $300 off its normal price).
Many of us picture crazy, unruly crowds shopping on Black Friday, but Best Buy figured out how to keep the crowds calm. While shoppers are still in line, they pass out slips for the big ticket items. Then, once the shoppers are inside, they take the slips to store employees who trade them for the item.
