(DETROIT, Mich. ) Detroit is one of 7 cities where America's Got Talent is holding auditions. This could be their big break: a chance to be a star.

Auditions were open to people of any age and any talent.

(nat sound country singer) "I wanna be somebody, someday..."

There were dancers, wrestlers, even a uni-cyclist: all hoping for a chance to be on the show and face Simon Cowell and the judges.

A Millington comedienne came to Cobo Center with her posse, in flannel shirts.

Melissa Hager says "people call me the funny, naive farm girl".

A producer of the show says the lucky ones will get an e-mail with tickets to Los Angeles for the show.

Adam Davis says "its worth a million dollars. Its worth headlining a show in Las Vegas. It's just a little 90 second audition that could change your life completely".

(girl sings)"It's not simple to say, that most days..."

Many people think they have talent.

(man sings) "Hit me like a ray of sun, burning through my darkest night...."

But the judges will decide whether people like Saginaw's Sharrieff Beamon will be selected.

According to Beamon, "I always wanted to try out for a nationally televised talent show...and when I heard AGT was in Detroit 90 miles from me I was like, alright, I better go'!

Who will wind up making he show? Someone who's original, and who stands out.

The producers told them, don't be boring!
