A new CNBC ranking has Michigan among top 10 pro-business states.

We wanted to see how things are going for some small business owners so we visited the Angelic Soaps & Gifts shop in the Flint/Genesee Township area.

" I love helping people, inspiring people, and making people happy," says Dishawn Holmes of Flint.

The mother of three says her entrepreneur dream was born in 2001 when she attended an enrichment class at Flint Community Schools.

"I was interested in learning about different herbs and their benefits and qualities they added to soap," says Holmes.

After that class, Holmes began making soaps on her own. With a basic recipe to get her started, she then added her own ingredients.

" I tweaked it a little bit and made it my own and started selling my soaps."

It wasn't until 2014 that Holmes had an idea to get her products to clients.

"I found my truck on Craigslist. It was an old wood-work truck. Very beat up, old, and dusty. I found a man on Craigslist that was a carpenter. He redid my walls, he put my wood floors down. Everything came together and now I have a mobile gift shop."

About a year after the Angelic Soap Mobile Gift Shop hit the road, Holmes was able to open up a small shop on 4482 N. Genesee Road, in the Flint/Genesee Township area.

"It makes me feel read good when I have people shopping in my truck because they are inspired and my gifts make them happy."
