Back to the Bricks has officially rolled into town.

But it is about more than the cool rides.

For many, like Evelyn Johnson of Flint, it's about family time.

Johnson brings her family to Back to the Bricks every year, along with one of her three corvettes.

“I don’t have to point at them and say, 'This is what I want, daddy,'" Johnson said. "I say, 'This is what I have.'"

She said she wants to show her grandkids that their city has a lot to offer.

“Nice family affair, nice outing," she said. "Let them know Flint is still here.”

Johnson said she remembers Flint in its glory days as Vehicle City and has faith that the city is ready to shift into high gear.

“Flint is going to be revived," she said. "It’s going to come back strong. Flint is more than just the water.”
