CHESANING, Mich. - The Saginaw County Sheriff's Office is on the scene of a triple shooting in Chesaning in which the suspect barricaded herself inside a residence.

The incident happened just before 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 Block of Front Street near the city's Showboat Park.

Two female victims were taken to a local hospital, one in critical and one whose condition is unknown, according to Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel.

The suspect, also a female, barricaded herself in a residence before deputies were able to talk her into surrender.

Federspiel said the suspect also suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital where she is under guard.

It was unknown what the relationship between the victims and the suspect is.

“It’s a mystery to us. We don’t know the relationships or the motivation, but three people were shot and we hope they are able to survive,” said Federspiel.

A gun was recovered at the scene, but police were waiting for a warrant in order to collect more evidence from inside the residence.

Federspiel added the county's Emergency Services Team was called in bring resolution to the situation.

This is a developing story and will be updated as information becomes available.
